Guitar Lessons

We are now offering group guitar lessons at FCMS! Our awesome instructor, Jon Jamison will be conducting these lessons weekly during the Fall semester of 2026.

  • Level: Beginner
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Age: 8 years old and up (7 and under is allowed with parent attendance)
  • When: Every Wednesday at 7:00pm from August 26th – December 16th
  • Registration Fee: $30, (includes first class, books and materials. Instructor may ask student to purchase another book if needed in the middle of the semester)
  • Tuition: $120 per month, full semester commitment required

Josiah Down

Guitar Teacher

Josiah Down is a guitarist, worship leader, and music instructor from Waxhaw, NC. He graduated from Wingate University and has studied music for over 15 years, with a focus on guitar in the past 5 years. Having served on numerous praise and worship teams since middle school, Josiah has a background in contemporary worship, live performance, music directing, music production, and songwriting. He currently serves as the Creative Arts Ministry Resident at Providence City Church. Josiah is passionate about helping students discover the joy of music, develop their God-given musical gifts, and grow in confidence and skill.

Jon Jamison

Guitar Teacher

Jon Jamison is a guitarist and music educator from the Charlotte area with over 20 years of experience studying and performing music. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance from Winthrop University in 2008 after studying guitar with Mike Pitts in Raleigh, NC. Jon has taught private guitar and ukulele lessons for many years, including at OnStage School of Music, and is passionate about helping students develop both musical skill and a lifelong love for music. He also serves on the praise band at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, where he enjoys using music to support worship and encourage others in their faith.
